A physiotherapist from Winchester has been celebrating after opening a new premises in the city centre.

Physiotherapist Jack Winyard, 29, from Basingstoke, has opened a new business on 69 Parchment Street in the store formerly occupied by Italian gift and homeware store Forme.

Winchester Physio and Health opened in the middle of April following a refit of the premises, which now boasts three treatment rooms and an in-house gym.

The new Winchester Physio and Health will offer a variety of tailored services, including sports massages, personal training and pilates, VALD testing, as well as physio such as injury management, post-operative rehab and shockwave therapy. The business will cater to a range of people, from members of the non-sporting population to elite athletes.

Mr Winyard comes from a sports background himself, with experience in private physiotherapy, and is involved closely with a network of health and sport professionals in his work. Jack has previously worked for physiotherapy clinic Bodyset.

As previously reported, independent store Forme left the unit vacant last summer after 25 years in Parchment Street, after manager Andrew Butling and family chose to return to Italy under new name ‘Nuovo Corso’, meaning “new path”, located in San Casciano in Val di Pesa near Florence.

Jack said that the response since opening the premises had been "better than anticipated" adding that he wanted to get involved with businesses and the community, including local sports clubs and groups.

Jack said: “Through years of working in private practice, I have been able to cherry-pick the best bits, and because of that, I think we have the perfect approach.

"Utilising industry-leading technology to drive results at affordable prices means we can offer a leading physio service across Winchester. The community have already been so welcoming and we can’t wait to get involved.”
