FOUR men have been charged in connection with a series of non-dwelling burglaries targeting electric bikes.

The charges follow an investigation by Winchester CID. They relate to a series of 11 commercial burglaries and thefts that took place between July 15 and October 25 last year.

The offences predominantly took place in the Southampton and Winchester districts, but some took place in other areas of the county and outside the county.

On Tuesday, April 30, officers from across the force carried out a series of warrants at addresses in the Southampton area, and made four arrests.

Four men were charged with conspiracy to commit a burglary other than a dwelling with intent to steal.

The men are Martin William Meadows, 32, of Roundhill Close, Southampton; Ryan Edwards Meadows, 26, of Lower Brownhill Road, Southampton; Rhys Thornton, 28, Briton Street, Southampton; and Richard Adrian Vincent, 33, Judges Gully Close, Bishopstoke.

The four men appeared before Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 1 and have been bailed to appear at Southampton Crown Court on Friday, May 31.
