BASEPOINT in Winchester has donated nearly £6,000 to a local charity that supports young carers.
A cheque for £5,820 has been given to Winchester Young Carers following a year of fundraising events including a family evening raffle, a onesie walk, and the Avington Park ladies morning and captains day.
The proceeds were matched by Basepoint’s parent company, the ACT Foundation, in a bid to give as much as possible for the charity.
The independent charity aims to provide help and support for carers aged between eight to 17 throughout the district.
Lisa Rooney, centre manager at Basepoint Winchester, said: “We’re proud to present this cheque to our sponsored charity, Winchester Young Carers. They do fantastic work within our local community, and we love taking part in these fundraisers knowing the money benefits such a worthy cause.”
