A BUSINESSMAN from Chandler’s Ford has been nominated as one of three finalists for a special prize.
Chris Rees, owner of Rees Leisure in Winchester Road, has been shortlisted for the INSPIRE14 Young Business Person of the Year Award.
The 28-year-old set up the firm 10 years ago while still at university and now manages sporting events across the south of England.
Most recently he launched the ABP Southampton Half Marathon and 10K which will take place in April next year.
Mr Rees said: “I was totally overwhelmed to be shortlisted. It is always great to be recognised, but obviously it is also thanks to the hard work of my staff who continue to help me grow the business and offer fun sporting events for all ages.
The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 13, at the De Vere Venues Highfield Park, at Heckfield near Hook.
