TOPGEAR Motorsports is expecting to do a roaring trade at its new premises.

The franchise run by business partners Byron Lewis and Wayne Simpkins, has just moved to a new unit on the Moniton Trading Estate, in West Ham Lane, Basingstoke.

It was previously based within the nearby Fast Fit Service Centre, which is also owned by Byron, who has close to 30 years of experience in the industry.

“We needed to expand the Topgear side of the business, but the Fast Fit Service Centre building is too small to do that,” explained Byron.

He said Topgear Motorsports has two sides to its business. One side specialises in the refurbishment of alloy wheels from repairs, straightening to colouring.

The other provides a bodywork repairs and car modifications service, including fitting body kits and spoilers, along with providing paint jobs and scratch cover services.

Upbeat about business Byron said: “There is a gigantic market out there for powder-coated refurbished alloy wheels. “After all, there’s a lot of people who buy alloys and there’s a lot of people scrape the curb damaging the look of their wheels.

“We also get some people who just purely want a different colour. They buy their car and then think ‘I want something fancy or different for my car’.”

Byron added: “We see all sorts of people from all walks of life and with all makes and models of cars. We can deal with anything from a Mini to a Bentley.”

Wayne, who shares Byron’s passion for the Topgear Motorsports business, said: “We are an independent business and strive for perfection and we are going to do our very best to look after our customers.

“If we look at a finished set of wheels and the workmanship brings a smile to our faces, then we know the customer will be over the moon.”
