URBAN regeneration and property development company Muse Developments has made a positive contribution to Morgan Sindall Group’s results.

Muse, which is delivering the £200m regeneration of Basing View area, is part of the construction and regeneration group, which has reported an operating profit of £26.5m, on revenues of £2,095m.

Published last week, the results are for the year ending December 31, 2014.

In Basingstoke, Muse is planning to deliver about 650,000 sq ft of new commercially-led development at Basing View.

The first phase of development, the construction of a 110,000 sq ft combined Waitrose and John Lewis at home store, is now under way.

This new format store is only the second of its type in the John Lewis Group portfolio and represents a major investment by the retailer in Basingstoke.

The Basing View development, which is being delivered with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, will include a mix of office space, a business class hotel and supporting facilities.

Michael Auger, regional director for the south at Muse Developments, said: “2014 has been a positive year for us, with renewed confidence in the market, increased appetite for investment and continued support from our public sector partners.

“We’ve seen significant progress on our Basing View scheme in Basingstoke, with construction of a joint Waitrose and John Lewis well under way which will help unlock future phases of development.”
