SERVICED office provider Business Environment has come of age, celebrating its 21st anniversary last Thursday.

Set up in 1994, the firm also known as BE, has been providing serviced offices at the ViewPoint office building on Basing View, since 1999.

The office block is one of 12 office centres including sites in London, Reading Milton Keynes and Bristol, providing more than 600,000 sq ft of space.

BE is using the birthday celebrations to launch a five year expansion plan.

Over the next few years the company is looking to expand up to 20 new centres.

Managing director David Saul, said: “I know it is said many times, but it really does feel like only yesterday when we established the business, almost by accident.

“Over the last 21 years not only has BE grown steadily and successfully but the industry has evolved into a respectable and dynamic sector that is expanding rapidly.”

BE’s ViewPoint centre manager Lisa Cole is upbeat about the future prospects of BE and of Basing View.

She said: “We are excited about the regeneration of the business park, especially with the coming of the new John Lewis at home and Waitrose stores.

“Business Environment is investing in the refurbishment of our office space and reception, and we anticipate an increase in demand as the surrounding area becomes a more vibrant and sought-after place to work.”

Among the 16 firms based at ViewPoint are business support specialists Entrepreneurs Hub, which started out as a virtual client before moving into the building two years ago.

International manufacturing company Barksdale Control Products has been based at the site since 2001, while software solutions firm PRD Technologies has been there since 2006.
