THE bright sparks at WES have won an award from the Electrical Contractors Association.
It received the Innovation in Contracting Award, at the association’s annual awards, held at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, in Westminster Based at Precision House, in Rankine Road, Basingstoke, WES, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is a specialist chemical dosing supplier for process industries.
Picking up the accolade from comedian Ed Byrne, on behalf of the company were electrical engineers Warwick Palmer and Wayne Daysh.
The award was based on work that WES had undertaken with the Royal Navy and engineering support services company Babcock in applying innovative solutions to complex cooling system corrosion issues on warships and submarines.
Managing director Kevin Wheeler said: “I am absolutely delighted with this accolade in recognition of the hard work across the entire WES business and in particular the electrical team.
“Until quite recently WES have been predominantly a mechanical specialist for chemical systems in the water industry.
“Development of the electrical capability coupled with working for the Royal Navy was a tough challenge and I am proud to say that we exceeded expectations.
“This award endorses the effort made by the business in changing to meet client demand and striving to do better.”
