EXPANSION and growth has led to a successful Basingstoke design agency to relocate to the centre of town.

The Designlab, previously based in Cliddesden Road, has moved to bigger premises at Clifton House, in Bunnian Place, within walking distance of Basingstoke railway station.

It celebrated the move with a party with plenty of fizz for clients, suppliers, friends and family.

Set up 16 years ago, the agency which specialises in working with top beauty and fashion brands, has some impressive clients, including Sassoon Professional, Toni&Guy, Elizabeth Arden, Osprey LONDON, and Givenchy.

Executive creative director Kevin Davis said the move will allow the business to expand and grow at a time when it is most needed.

He was very much hands-on in transforming the office space in the 1970s building into to something special.

With a floor to ceiling black board to keep staff up to date on the latest projects and bespoke and intimate booths, which offer an alternative to working on the canteen style desks, the space is flexible and can easily accommodate 16 staff.

The office also boasts an open plan contemporary kitchen area, table tennis table to allow the team to recharge and a comfortable, mid-century inspired reception.

Kevin said the inside of Clifton House is in huge contrast to the outside area.

“We love this space and we really were sold with the location,” said Kevin.

“It is great to be able to share this space with the people that mean the most to us.

“We have worked hard to achieve the look and feel we wanted for the office and we are super pleased with the results.

“Everyone loves the space we have created and the team thrive in the creative but comfortable environment.

“Our focus is now to continue to expand the business and continue to grow organically.”

Account director Clare Milverton was equally pleased with the new office, which also features a colourful graffiti style wall painting by Basingstoke artist Bill Thorpe.

Clare said: “The team has made the office their own and you feel like you are in a collaborative space with one purpose in mind to create ideas.”
