It’s the event that could be just the job for you.

Today the Echo Jobs Fair takes place at the O2 Guildhall, Southampton from 10am and 3pm.

A host of employers and training organisations will be on hand to give advice and alert you to any career opportunities that may be available.

Among the latest to sign up to the event are PBS4 – a new non-profit social enterprise supporting people with learning disabilities to live in their own tenancies.

PBS4 are currently recruiting full time, part time, and relief staff for their teams across Southampton and Hampshire.

A spokesman for organisation said: “We aim to match people to the person they support and you will build a professional friendship with the person you support.

“We are also building a register of people who are interested in being Personal Assistants for families.

“We will provide training and pre-employment checks and then introduce employees to families to see if they are a good match for each other.

“Supporting people with learning disabilities is one of the most rewarding careers you can step into. It has its highs and lows, but your daily goal is to give the person you support the life they want.”

Other companies and organisations taking part in the event include salad growers Vitacress, Hampshire Constabulary, Hampshire County Council, Open Sight Hampshire, Gala Bingo, who have customer service roles to fill, Paultons, who are looking for staff for the summer season, Carewatch, Peter Symonds, Sarum Homecare, All Care, Home Fundraising, Berry Recruitment, Pathfinder Personnel, and Autism Hampshire.

Throughout the day there’ll be a packed seminar programme giving advice and guidance on careers in popular sectors.

Members of the National Careers Service will be on hand offering one-to-one advice sessions on improving your CV, interview skills, returning to work, and self employment.
