WESTQUAY’S recent expansion with an influx of new restaurants made Southampton the “obvious” choice for their new office say a recruitment firm which specialises in the hospitality sector.

Platinum Recruitment is due to open the doors to its new office in Cumberland Place on Monday.

The new office, the second for the business, will create four new jobs for the city.

Platinum says it aims to place around 50 staff per week.

Established in Bournemouth 12 years ago, the company has grown rapidly and had a turnover of £8 million this year.

Managing director Paul Sinclair said: "We have seen the benefit that a professional agency can give to businesses in Bournemouth, and Southampton offers a fantastic opportunity for us to replicate that same business model to its fantastic offering of hospitality and sporting venues.

“With Southampton’s recent expansion of Westquay and the food quarter, coupled with its vibrant business and restaurant trade, it was an obvious choice. The city has some wonderful restaurants, hotels and pubs, all of which will at times, find it difficult to recruit.”
