Man reportedly exposed himself near school
POLICE have stepped up patrols after a man reportedly exposed himself near a Romsey school. Officers say the indecent exposure happened last Thursday (May 8) afternoon near some trees and bushes on the green outside Romsey Abbey Primary School. A parent collecting a child from the school spotted the grey/white haired man aged about 60 acting inappropriately. He was wearing a green shirt and beige trousers at the time and was a sporting a beard.
Police say the suspect did not make any attempt to approach any children. PC Sharon Hargreaves said everything possible was being done to trace the man and she would like to hear from anyone who knows of similar incidents around the town.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information about similar incidents in the area to contact us. We are conducting additional high visibility patrols in the area and we are working with local schools to ensure pupils are given appropriate advice. Parents and pupils can also contact schools to report any suspicious activity if they do not feel comfortable speaking to the police directly," said the officer.
