STUDENTS have published a book which they hope Southampton residents will support.
Staff and students from Southampton Solent University as well as members from the wider Southampton community, have produced a collection of poems and stories.
The book, On the Water, was launched at Waterstone in Westquay and was a collaboration between Solent Press and second year English students from Southampton Solent University.
Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Graham Baldwin purchased the first copy.
He said: “The hard work and collaboration needed to create this publication makes it a fantastic showcase for the wide range of talents we have at Solent.”
The book features short stories, poetry, non-fiction and performance pieces from Southampton.
The call for submissions went out last autumn and the University received 110 submissions from 35 authors, a mixture of students, members of staff and people from Southampton.
On the Water, printed with vegan ink on recycled paper is priced at £5.
