AN EYE-catching display of art representing the New Forest is on show at Romsey’s Rum’s Eg gallery.

It features the work of Take 10 – a group of artists living and working in the New Forest area.

The exhibition, called The New Forest, Earth, Water and Wood, is made up of more than 80 works in a variety of media including watercolours, oils, pastels and ink.

Romsey Mayor Peter Hurst recently attended a private viewing of the exhibition which runs until October 4 at the Bell Street community gallery.

Deputy manager Kat Hansford pointed out that Rum’s Eg has other exhibits on show that reflect the New Forest theme.

“We have eight artists at Rum’s Eg at the moment who turn or carve with wood, mostly sourced from the Forest. They have produced some beautiful, tactile pieces including delicate, fragile goblets and exquisite ‘natural edge’ turned bowls and vases,” said Kat.
