PREVIEW
The Shell Seekers,
Plaza Theatre, Romsey
AN adaptation of Rosamunde Pilcher’s best-selling novel The Shell Seekers will be on stage in Romsey next week.
The poignant and sometimes funny family saga switches between the 1980s and Second World War, as it follows Penelope’s three children.
They are squabbling over their impending inheritance and what is best for their increasingly frail mother.
Meanwhile, Penelope’s new gardener and his young companion remind her of a bittersweet past in Cornwall, and unknowingly help her make life-changing decisions about her father’s last work – the hugely valuable painting The Shell Seekers.
Directors Pat and Dave Francis said: “This has long been one of our favourite novels and we are sure that the Plaza audiences will love the story as much as we do.”
It runs at the Plaza Theatre from Tuesday, November 11, until Saturday, November 15. Performances start at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 and can be bought online at plazatheatre.com or from the Tourist Information Centre on 01794 512987.
