Being vicar of Romsey means you are in charge of the town’s biggest concert venue.
To this end Rev Tim Sledge invited civic dignitaries to the Church Rooms for the launch of the 2015 Music in Romsey season to be held at Abbey.
Mr Sledge commented on the number of concerts and recitals planned this year and thanked concert organiser Edna Rowland and her team for their hard work in preparing the new programme.
He then presented cheques to representatives of two charities –Joan Stallwood of Romsey Family Support Group and Anne Campbell of Jane Scarth House – which had benefitted from collections made during 2014’s concerts.
The new season starts on Saturday, March 14 with a Spring Concert featuring Hampshire County Youth Orchestra and Romsey Youth Choir.
A brochure, sponsored by the White Horse Hotel and Silks Brasserie, giving details of the 2015 season is available from the Abbey, the Tourism Information Centre (TIC) in Church Street, the Abbey or the offices of the Advertiser.
Tickets are available from the TIC or online at musicinromsey.ticketsource.co.uk.
