A DRIFTWOOD sculpture has taken pride of place in a Stockbridge hotel.
The six-foot piece by James Doran-Webb, which is valued at more than £6,000, is now on display in the Grosvenor Hotel’s restaurant.
The hotel is home to prestigious fly-fishing club, the Houghton Club. The sculpture is aptly named “Salmon Jump”.
Owen and Maggie Evans, who have managed the Grosvenor for four years, said: “We were stunned when James offered us the sculpture and did not hesitate to gratefully accept.
“As the home of the Houghton Club the sculpture fits in beautifully and our customers love it.
“It is very impactful and we are very proud to have it here.”
On his website, James describes his creation: “I have used one of these sheets in its original crumpled state to create the effect of water.
“Highly polished, it makes a stunning sculpture with five driftwood fish jumping from its surface.”
