The Morgana Show star Morgana Robinson has said women are still making their way in the comedy scene.

Morgana, 29, who is about to launch a new Channel 4 impressions show, Very Important People, insisted being funny on TV is far from glamorous.

"It's not high on women's priorities to be funny, and they're not necessarily up for making themselves really ugly," she said.

"It's a very masculine thing... there's nothing glamorous about it.

"But give it another 100 years and everyone will be doing it. We're still making our way."

Her new show, which kicks off later this month, lampoons the likes of Adele, ex-EastEnder Natalie Cassidy, Russell Brand and Helena Bonham Carter.

:: Very Important People begins on Channel 4 on Friday, April 27.
