Tesco’s controversial plans for an edge-of-town store at Romsey have received a significant boost from two important reports.

Test Valley Borough Council planning officers have reported that they will make no objection to the scheme on policy grounds.

This follows the publication of a study commissioned by the council from consultants Nathaniel Litchfield and Partners (NLP) which said the proposals to build a 35,000 sq ft store on the Broadlands estate south of the bypass would have no significant impact on the town centre.
