AN elderly Salisbury man suffered minor injuries when his car overturned following a collision with a van at a busy Romsey junction yesterday morning (Tuesday).

Police say the 76-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics but did not go to hospital following  the accident at the junction of the A3090 with the A27 at Mainstone.

He was at the wheel of a Peugeot 206 which flipped on to its side after it was in collision with a Ford Transit driven by a 58-year-old Fair Oak man, who escaped injury.

Highway teams were called in to clean up a diesel spillage on the road which was closed for a time following the incident which happened at about 9.45am.
