PUPILS got a chance to enjoy their break-time in style when they helped launch a new community café.
The café, at the Knightwood Leisure Centre, was opened with support from the parish council in Valley Park and is staffed by volunteers. As part of the launch, pupils from the local St Francis Primary were asked to create art explaining what they liked about living in the area.
The result was an array of poems, pictures and writing now on show in the café, which it is hoped will become a hub of community activity and events.
Parish council chairman, Alan Dowden, said: “We were amazed by the quality of work the pupils produced. It makes for a fabulous display in the café, which we hope will be enjoyed by the community.”
