Pragnell levels it.

Rising Sun (Soton) 2, Michelmersh & Timsbury A 2.

All the Michelmersh games fell victim to the heavy rain apart from the A' side's away match against Rising Sun (Southampton) at Eastleigh's Fleming Park.

Despite the torrential rain this game somehow survived as both sides arrived at Fleming Park to find the pitch surprisingly playable.

Michelmersh made the brighter start before the heavens opened ten minutes into the game with the resulting surface water making conditions difficult.

Despite the conditions Michelmersh continued to attack and on any other day surely would have scored several times to take a firm control of the game as several goalbound efforts got held up in the surface water.

The hosts increasingly gained possession and took a 25th minute lead in what soon developed into an end-to-end contest and had further chances to extend their lead before the interval.

Michelmersh suffered a setback at half-time when their unwell goalkeeper Drew Goodland was forced to retire. Centre-back Dave Foster adorned the keeper's jersey but had little time to settle into his new position as Rising Sun took advantage of a defensive error to score a gift wrapped second.

Chances continued to fall at each end with youngster Henry Rule twice going close for Michelmersh before a well-taken strike from the experienced Tim Pragnell on 80 minutes restored some hope.

The final stages saw Michelmersh dominate play as they searched for an equaliser and their efforts were rewarded when Pragnell's effort was deflected past the stranded keeper.
