Tickets are now on sale for this year's very special Romsey Show, which, for the first time in its 172-year history, will have a theme: “World War One and Hampshire Life 1914 – 1918”.

As well as commemorating the centenary of the start of the conflict and Broadland's specific role as centre for training war horses, the show will be reflecting on the huge social changes that took place over the period, from the rise of the motor car and the emergence of labour movements to massive developments in agriculture.

Along with all the usual attractions and special Great War events, such as an aerial display by replica aircraft, a horse and mule remount demonstration and a Garden of Remembrance dedicated to the 350 Romsey men who lost their lives in the Great War, all sections of the show have been asked to promote the period and everyone attending is invited to dress in period costume.

Romsey Show takes place on Saturday, September 13, at Broadlands Park, Romsey.

Children under 11 go free and advance tickets, with savings of up to 25 per cent, are available from various outlets, including the Romsey Advertiser office. For more information, visit www.romseyshow.co.uk.
