FARM machinery from a bygone era will be taking to the Test Valley countryside this weekend. Binders and old combines and will be working (weather permitting) in fields off Danebury Road at Longstock near Stockbridge.

Members of the Upper Test Valley Vintage Club are organising Sunday’s event which also includes around 50 tractors dating back to the 1940s and 1950s that will be ploughing, disc harrowing and rolling fields.

Event organiser Dave Watts said he is expecting thousands to attend the popular and annual show.

“It’s certainly grown in size since it first started,” he said. “We’ve got around 50 different stalls including old and new tools and knitting. We’ve got about 50 classic cars coming, nearly 70 stationary barn engines, two rack bench saws that will be sawing up large pieces of timber and an American Wild West living history show,” said Mr Watts. The event runs between 10am and 4pm each day and admission is £5 for adults. Under-12s go free.
