Three members of Romsey Hospital’s staff have sworn off alcohol for a month and won’t touch it even for medicinal purposes.

Thirty-year-old Rehab assistant Anna Burns Cox, health care assistant Jenny Bell, 39, and staff nurse Paula Bishop, 29, are going sober for October in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Trust.

“Nights out are going to be difficult,” said Anna, “Especially for Paula who is celebrating her birthday on October 19.”

The trio are calling themselves Ginas Angels in a tribute to colleague Gina Matthews, who had breast cancer a few years ago and unfortunately last summer found that her cancer had spread to her spine and now has multiple metastasis.
