MORE than 50 homes at Mottisfont were hit by power cuts at the weekend.
Homes in the Hatt Hill and Spearywell Road areas of the village lost supplies for two hours on Saturday morning and about four and half hours on Sunday evening.
A Southern Electric spokesperson said that a 'faulty circuit' is believed to be behind both power failures.
Engineers are still investigating the cause.
Some of the affected properties were left without heating and no phones because they are electrically powered.
Some householders were advised by Southern Electric's customer services staff to turn off electrical equipment such as TVs to prevent damage from possible surges with the power constantly going on and off.
