Michelmersh Silver Band came home from the Wessex Brass Band Association Winter Contest in Bournemouth with four trophies.
They were awarded Best Championship Section Band; Best Trombone Section (for the second year running) Best March and Best Instrumentalist, flugel player Wayne Landen.
Competing against 18 bands from across the south west region, Michelmersh played the Concert March Emblem of Unity by JJ Richards and then Paganini Variations by Philip Wilby.
Tickets are selling fast for the band’s seasonal offering “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” at the Plaza Theatre, Romsey on December 8 and 9.
This year popular entertainer Mark Ponsford returns as guest compere, bringing his own brand of comedy to the concert which as always will feature a visit from Santa and a few surprise treats for audience members.
