HAMPSHIRE is brrrrrracing itself for possible snow fall.

Weather experts say we should be prepared for the white stuff possibly hitting the county.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning saying the county could be showered with snow, sleet and hail this afternoon.

They have also warned that 75 mile per hour gusts of wind and torrential downpours will hit the county tomorrow because of low pressure from the Atlantic.

The Met Office say a cold westerly airstream will spread across the area tonight, which could lead to snow falling.

It could to leave the ground covered in three to six centimetres (one to two inches) of snow and drivers in Hampshire have been warned to be aware of icy patches that will form on untreated surfaces.

The cold weather will see temperatures fall to as low as three degrees today and one degree in the early hours of tomorrow.

Weather experts have warned that gale force winds will disrupt' transport and could hit power supplies in the county tomorrow, and gusts in coastal regions are set to reach speeds of up to 75 miles per hour.

• Weather forecast: Tuesday: Hampshire could be hit with snow, but there's more chance of icy patches forming on the roads. A cold westerly airstream will spread across the area on Tuesday evening, allowing frequent showers overnight.

Wednesday: The county faces heavy downpours and gusts of wind up to 75 mph, a yellow warning for both rain and wind has been issued by the Met Office, which could see downpours of 20-40mm and localised flooding.

Thursday: The bad weather is expected to last into Thursday with heavy winds affecting the county until 3pm as well torrential rain throughout the day, which could lead to flooding in some areas.
