It was a dirty job but someone had to do it.
This group of 15 people from Mill Lane, Nursling, spent two hours collecting litter left in and around their road.
As well as fast food wrappers and drink cans, the hoard included paint tins and a bike which had been left by fly tippers. It was then collected by Test Valley Borough Council.
One woman said: “We were sick of people dropping little in the countryside and in our environment so we thought we would have a clear up.
“It’s an area where people stop and have their lunch and we get people sit here in the evenings.
“We were shocked by the size of the pile at the end but we did know there would be quite a lot.”
