A FIRE ripped through part of a Hampshire school yesterday morning.

Despite the blaze however, Test Valley School, in Stockbridge, says it will be open as normal today.

A statement on the school's official website, states that it will remain open and that the areas affected by the blaze will be cordoned off.

It reads: "Unfortunately there has been a minor fire at the school today.

"However, all of the main areas and classrooms are not affected and school will therefore open as normal on Tuesday May 5th.

"There will be a small area of the school cordoned off and all pupils will be expected to stay away from this area at all times until further notice."

The news comes following the release of photograph of a fire at the school that was posted on Facebook Group 'Spotted in Romsey' on Monday morning.

A comment on the photograph suggested the fire started in the boiler room - although this is yet to be confirmed.
