THE DEVASTATED family of a Hampshire man who plunged from the window of his home have said he will be “sadly missed”.

Pensioner James Horn, who was known as Jim, tragically died when he fell from his top floor flat window in North Baddesley.

The discovery of his body by a resident of Bracken Road sparked a police investigation, with officers blocking the road and erecting a cordon around the block of flats.

Daily Echo:

His family today paid tribute to the 74-year-old, who was popular with his neighbours, saying: “He will be sadly missed by friends and family.”

As previously reported, police and paramedics descended on the quiet block of flats after being alerted by a resident who came across the body at 6.45am.

There was a heavy presence of police and forensics throughout Tuesday as an investigation got underway and a white tent was put up in the area close to the back of St David’s Court flats.

The tent was later removed and the police cordon and presence scaled back.

A post mortem revealed his injuries were consistent with a fall and that there is no evidence of an assault prior to his fall.

Police have confirmed they are now treating his sudden death as non-suspicious.

A file is now being prepared for the coroner.
