ADULTS are needed to come forward to stop a Test Valley scout group being in danger of collapsing.

Wellow Scout group desperately needs leaders to support children and help keep the troop running.

But leaders are also needed at other scout groups in Romsey as more children get interested in the society.

James Child, Romsey Scouts' Development Officer said: “Young people in Wellow have been left disappointed this term as the Scout Troop that meets there does not have enough leaders to run the meetings.

“They aren't alone across the Romsey area though, as the increase in children wanting to experience Scouting is being limited by the numbers of adult leaders who volunteer.

“Without adult volunteers, the existing Scout groups are in danger of closing.

"We no longer ask for volunteers to commit to every week, as our ideal scenario is to have a team on a rota basis for each section meeting.

“Training and support is provided by the Scout District locally, so any adults considering coming forward would never be left alone in their new role".
