BASHLEY are without teenage left-arm bowling prospect Bradley Currie for tomorrow’s Southern Premier League match against relegated Ventnor at BCG (1pm).

The Poole-born seamer is currently playing for Surrey in the ECB Under-17 County Championship final against Lancashire at Arundel and tomorrow will hot-foot it to Kibworth in Leicestershire to play for the junior Brown Caps against Durham in Sunday’s county 50-over cup final.

“It’s all go but hugely enjoyable,” said Currie, who also has an ECB Super 4s date for the South & West at Loughborough next week.

“It’s the national Under-17 regional tournament against sides from London, the Midlands and the North – a great opportunity for me to show my paces in front of the England selectors.”

While Currie hopes to catch the eye of the England management, Bashley skipper Michael Porter has his sights set on winning the Premier League’s batting prize.

Porter, 21, is one of five batsmen to pass the 500-run milestone this season, with his tally of 561 just ahead of Havant captain Ben Walker (547).

Lymington’s Ed Ellis and South Wilts pair Jack Mynott and Jake Winter have also made more than 500 SPL runs.

Bashley (Rydal): Porter, Gates, Jacques, S Ridley, Vaughan, Bailiff, C Ridley, Thomson, Digby, Lewis, Lilley.

  • New Milton look to build on last weekend’s thrilling two-run win over Bashley when they host the Hampshire Academy at Fernhill.

New Milton: R Beck, Wakefield, Arnold, Haggaty, Elliott, Collison, Edwards, L Beck, Hall, Loader, G Watts.

  • Nick Park is available for New Milton’s SPL T20 Plate semi-final at Sparsholt on Sunday (3pm).
