A DRIVER was caught on a Hampshire motorway this morning using his phone to check a court payment issued for the same reason had gone through.

The driver was caught on the M27, checking to ensure that a court payment had been authorised after he was issued the fine for using his phone behind the wheel.

It comes as the police launched a second crackdown on drivers using their phones on major Hampshire roads.

As reported by the Daily Echo, police caught more than 500 drivers for offences including shaving, eating cereal and reading.
