ALTHOUGH the weather may have been more appropriate for duck, dozens of locals turned out for an annual 'Gruck' race.
The Mottisfont Cricket Club racing evening was well attended, despite the wet weather which slightly affected the turn out.
However, those who braved the weather enjoyed some close finishes between the 'Grucks' – as the coloured decoy ducks are known.
There was also a barbecue and a children's forecast competition, which was won bt Ben Fryer.
Whilst the event was run to raise funds for the circket club, money will also be forwarded to Polymicrogyria Support – Polymicrogyria is a condition characterised by abnormal development of the brain before birth.
The organisers would like to thank the people who attended, the sponsors and the National Trust.
