IT IS set to be Hampshire’s biggest firework display, attracting a bumper crowd of 15,000 people.

Now the final countdown is on for the annual Daily Echo-backed display at Mayflower Park in the city, organised by the Southampton Round Table, which takes place this Saturday, November 4 from 3pm.

British pyro-musical champions Pyrotex will launch the display this year, setting the city’s skyline ablaze with spectacular colours.

Alongside this, a fun fair consisting of exciting fairground rides and stalls will keep children entertained along with live musical entertainment from Southampton community radio station Voice FM.

Chris Tahmasaby of Southampton Round Table said: “Tickets are selling fast, so make sure you book ahead of time.

“All money goes to support local charities in desperate need of help so it’s a big bang with a big impact!”

The Southampton display is part of network of 70 firework displays taking place across the UK for bonfire night this year organised by the Round Table, the world’s largest men’s only voluntary club for those aged 18-45.

Steven Grew, Round Table national president, said: “We are so proud to help thousands of people every year through the generous donations and tickets sales at our firework events. With brilliant displays, and the odd bonfire and fairground ride, the fact that each of these events is run by volunteers is an absolutely incredible achievement.

“This year Tablers are gearing up to make sure visitors are kept safe and entertained from start to finish. Our previous firework displays have helped us raise much-needed funds for local charities and we are keen to continue to show our support and this year do even more!

“We can’t wait to see all the community enjoying the awesome shows.”

Tickets for the event cost £8 for adults on the gate and £6 online and £4 for children on the gate and online with under 5’s free.
