COMMUNITY quizzers have donated funds towards a church council.
The Little London Community Quiz has presented a cheque to Smannell and Enham Parochial Church Council (PCC) with the money it had raised from its quiz nights.
Taking place at The Oak at Smannell every other Wednesday, the group of quizzers donate half of the £1 per person entry fee to local charities.
Regular quiz attendees grouped together to hand over a cheque of £1,050 to Smannell and Enham PCC.
The money raised will go towards a new sound system at Christ Church Smannell, that will be used to improve services, weddings and other church events.
Simon Jackson, organiser of the fortnightly quiz said: “I am constantly impressed by the generosity of all those who come along to the quiz.
“Their understanding of, support for, and belief in their local community is what it is all about.”
