POLICE are investigating after a dumper truck was stolen from a North Baddesley construction site.

Officers have launched the probe following the theft of a one tonne Thwaites Dumper.

Construction workers said the neighbours to the site had their property and fencing seriously damaged as the dumper could not fit through the security gates at the site on Rownhams Road.

A statement from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We received a report regarding a stolen dumper truck from a site in Rownhams Road, Southampton.

"Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101 quoting 44180049067."

It is believed that the theft took place between 5pm on February 5 and 7.30am on February 6.

A worker at the site said that construction thefts were 'now happening daily'.
