Yesterday the Daily Echo gave it’s readers a glimpse into the demolition work being carried out at Bitterne Park School.
The bulldozers moved in to tear down the school’s old building six months after the first students moved into their new £22m facility.
According to deputy head, Chris Whitbread, saying goodbye to their former 1960s built home has been an emotional experience.
“It has been sad,” he said.
“I’ve been in the old building a few times since it’s been stripped out and it’s sad to think of all that history, all of that hard work and all of that achievement”
To mark this special occasion, the Daily Echo looks back at the history of the school through some of the pictures taken there - be sure to check out those images above.
