A BRAISHFIELD pupil has raised almost £600 for Sport Relief.
Year Six student Toby Parton took part in a sponsored kayak roll – and managed 94 rolls in 15 minutes in a pool in Totton.
The achievement has meant a fundraising total of £588.30 as part of Braishfield Primary School’s £2,264 overall.
Toby said: “I decided to do my sponsored kayak roll because I watched Sport Relief and felt I needed to do something to help improve people’s lives.
“I am proud I have raised this money to go towards such a good cause.”
Class teacher Holly Niles added: “We are incredibly proud of Toby’s resilience, self-motivation and skill he displayed while carrying out the challenge.
“I wouldn’t have even been able to complete one roll, let alone 94!
He raised an amazing £588.30, which contributed to the school’s grand total of £2,264.08.
“An inspiring achievement for all!”
