ONE of Andover’s largest employers has signed up to sponsor the Advertiser’s jobs fair being held next week.

Ocado will be the sponsor of the Andover Advertiser jobs fair which is being held at The Lights, on Friday, 27 April from 10am to 4pm.

As well as sponsoring the event, the online supermarket will also be one of the exhibitors at the event, to provide an insight in to career opportunities at the firm.

The jobs fair offers free entry to the public and will be a great way to find out more about what job opportunities are available in the Andover area and more.

An Ocado spokesperson said: “We are choosing the Andover Advertiser to help us recruit for positions in and around Andover.

“We are growing as a company and would like to put ourselves out there more around the Andover area.

“We are using this opportunity to meet new people and potentially meet new candidates and get some interviews set up and also to explain a bit more about our company.”

Ocado’s Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) is based in Walworth Business Park and commenced operations at the end of 2016.

It is the third Ocado CFC with the site chosen due to Andover’s transport links.

The firm announced last year it would recruit 200 new staff to the centre which will bring the total number of employees from the local area employed at the company to around 800 people.

An array of institutions have signed up to the job fair.

The Army, Vitacress, and Euro Garages were already among the names to be represented at the event.

New organisations to be confirmed as attending this week include Randall Parker Foods and the Brandon Trust.

The fair will also feature representatives of Jobcentre Plus and the National Career Service to provide careers advice to visitors.

There are still opportunities available for companies to sign up to exhibit at the fair next week.

Businesses interested in being a part of the event should get in contact with Sasha Jones on 01256 337413 or email sasha.jones@basingstokegazette.co.uk to find out more information about signing up.
