A HAMPSHIRE care organisation has been given the highest rating for the quality of its work.

Bluebird Care, which covers Romsey, Eastleigh and Winchester, has celebrated being ranked as 'outstanding' in all five areas of their inspection by industry regulator, the Care Quality Commission.

The home care company now ranks at the top of more than 10,000 care companies across the country.

During the inspection, Bluebird Care were assessed in being well-led, caring, responsive, effective and safe. They achieved 'outstanding' in all sectors.

The organisation works alongside GPs and district nurses in providing care at home to those who need it. The youngest customer is 13, and the oldest 105.

Founders of the company, Norman and Claire Murphy, said they were delighted.

Norman, owner and managing director, said: "When we set out six years ago, we had a clear vision to be the best and today that dream came true. Myself, Claire and our whole team are blown away to be officially recognised as the best in home and live in care.

"It's taken so much passion and commitment from the entire team and we really couldn't be prouder."

Claire added: "We are simply delighted that the CQC have awarded us their highest ever rating and I hope this gives anyone who needs care, the reassurance that we only provide care to the absolute highest standards."

The Romsey, Eastleigh and Winchester region now joins its other offices that cover Stockbridge and Andover, and Alton and Alresford, in being rated as outstanding.

Andrea Sutcliffe, CQC chief inspector of adult social care said: "The quality of care which our inspectors found while inspecting services was exceptional, and I am very pleased that we can celebrate their achievements.

"The report highlights so many elements of really good practice – fantastic leadership, the use of technology to enrich the quality of care, a real focus on nurturing staff's skills and development and such an obvious and dedicated focus on the people using the service."
