SIR – Having been to the recent planning meeting concerning the proposed development at Hoe Lane, I have the following concerns:

1. Traffic issues, a development of this size warrants more than single track access, surely a new road with its junction either at Ashfield or Luzborough roundabouts would be much safer than the current proposal?

2. Flooding hasn’t been addressed either at the proposed site or on the surrounding highways.

3. Emergency service, disabled, pedestrian and cycling access must be taken into account, the current plans have no consideration for any of these & they are legal requirements.

4. If Hoe lane itself was to be made into a two-way road, habitats for bats, toads & birds would be destroyed & other wildlife disturbed beyond recovery.

5. Infrastructure to support the new development ie: Doctor’s surgery, school, shops etc.

North Baddesley is already over subscribed.

I urge councillors to think of a different site but if this one is the only option then all of the above MUST be examined & these issues addressed please.

Everyone needs a safe community, not an isolated dormitory!
