TWO Hampshire women who have set up an eco-friendly hair salon have received a cash boost from their local council.

Founders of Romsey's Dovey & Broom Hairdressing., Emma Dovey and Stacey Broom received a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council.

When their former employer decided to relocate last year the pair decided to stay put and start their own business.

The business partners signed a three-year lease on the site in Abbey Walk, Romsey and are already expanding their team to meet customer demand.

Romsey Abbey ward member, Councillor Clive Collier, said: “It is fantastic to see this thriving business in the heart of Romsey. The salon has flourished, and I am pleased to award Emma Dovey and Stacey Broom the Business Incentive Grant on behalf of Test Valley Borough Council.”

Test Valley Borough Council’s Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant will receive a grant of £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.
