A NEW £120,000 play park has been unveiled in North Baddesley.
Children from the village junior school joined councillors and construction staff from Wicksteed Playgrounds, who designed and installed the park to mark the opening earlier this month at the village's recreation ground.
The play area, called Castle Activity Park, has been funded by North Baddesley Parish Council, and has come mainly from developer contributions. The council say it is part of a wider project to extend sports facilities and the pavilion at the site, which caters for all ages and abilities with new modern equipment and safety surfacing.
A teen zone in the park has also been designed to provide a "more challenging" experience for younger teens.
Other equipment on site includes a Netscape unit, rope swing and roundabout.
There is also a separate fenced toddler zone.
North Baddesley Parish Council added: "We were very impressed with Wicksteed's efficient and professional handling of the works which were completed ahead of schedule, despite the bad weather."
