MORE than £3,000 has been awarded to North Baddesley Library as part of a Hampshire County Council funding boost.

Theatre groups, community fun days, swimming lessons and children’s playgroups have all benefitted from a £75,000 grant funding boost from the county authority.

Now, after Baddesley county councillor Alan Dowden backed it, £3,000 of that has been awarded to North Baddesley’s library.

Cllr Dowden said: “I am pleased that North Baddesley’s Community Library gained £3,000 after I strongly supported the application as the local councillor.

“I have also supported a further allocation of £500 from my community grant allocation, making the total amount of £3,500. The community library deserves the support in order to support the excellent work that the volunteers do to maintain this outstanding service for the community.”

Other libraries across the county have benefitted from revamps in the past few months, from Romsey library’s refurbishment to upgrades in Totton.
