ROMSEY Keep Our NHS Public expressed their concern over the service as it celebrated its 70th anniversary.
The group, over recent weeks, has been in the town’s Cornmarket providing information for the public and inviting shoppers to sign a petition against increasing privatisation of the NHS.
The petitions were then presented to the office of MP for Romsey and Southampton North, Caroline Nokes.
Sally McLellan said: “We were delighted that our street information stalls received such a positive response.
“Romsey people are clearly proud of our NHS but concerned for its future with many hundreds signing our petition against the growing privatisation of the service.
“Health funding should be used to invest in even better health care for all. NHS funding should not be given to private companies.”
