SIR – The Carnival Committee thanks all the entrants in the summer procession and those who watched. As a result of the procession £1186.55 has been added to the carnival profits.
Thanks should also be given to the gentlemen from Men’s Shed, the town marshals and the Army Cadets for their assistance and the Romsey Old Cadets.
On behalf of the committee, I would like to apologise for the confusion at the end of the procession which arose through having to implement last minute safety measures.
The committee will be, in conjunction with other groups, reviewing all aspects of the procession and making the appropriate changes for next year.
Although the summer carnival events are over, there will be quiz nights at the Comrades Club on 19th September and 21st November and culminating the winter procession and the switch on of the Christmas lights on Saturday 24th November.
