THIS is the shocking moment a brazen burglar jumps over a garden wall before fleeing with £10k worth of jewellery.

Declan Dewey, from James Grieve Avenue, Locks Heath, was left in shock when he returned home on Wednesday afternoon and realised that someone had entered the property while he was away.

The 26-year-old, who runs a family business with his mum Angie and his dad Kevin, said it was when he went into his bedroom that he realised what happened.

"All the clothes had been chucked out the wardrobe, the beds had been moved. It was an absolutely mess,"he added.

Fearing the burglar could still be in his house, Declan locked himself into his office, phoned the police and watched the CCTV footage, realising that a man had entered the property in the morning.

"Having someone in your house when you are not in is very distressing. This has never happened to us before. It has affected me so much,"he said.

And added: "I'm worried about coming back home, I'm worried about if they were watching the house for quite a while. It makes me feel sick and the first night I only had one hour sleep."

Declan said the incident has been reported to the police.

"My mum is distraught. I hope they will catch him as soon as possible,"he added.

Police confirmed the incident happened between 10.30am and 10.50am on September 19. Witnesses are urged to call 101 quoting 44180354562.
