A WINCHESTER man is starting a 28-month prison sentence for attacking a woman and forcing his way into her home.
Luke Joyce, 26, of Hyde Gate, Hyde, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and using violence to gain entry into a first-floor property on Northanger Drive, Abbotts Barton, Winchester, knowing someone inside was opposed to that entry.
Both offences happened on July 12 last year, a court was told. Joyce pleaded guilty on June 21 and the case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.
The judge at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday July 27 jailed him for two years and four months and also imposed a 12-year restraining order barring Joyce from having any contact with the woman.
